MARK SCHULTZ AND DOWNHERE TO LAUNCH HOW MANY KINGS CHRISTMAS TOUR IN DECEMBER

World Vision To Sponsor Tour That Features Opening Act

 Alli Rogers

Nashville, TN (November 19, 2010) —- Two of Christian music’s most celebrated artists, Mark Schultz and Downhere, will launch their first Christmas tour together next month.  World Vision is sponsoring the How Many Kings Christmas Tour with CCM artist Alli Rogers as the opening act.  The tour was named after Downhere’s hit single, “How Many Kings,” and will visit 16-cities from December 2 through the 19th.

“We are very excited this year to be partnering with World Vision and Mark Schultz for the How Many Kings Christmas Tour” says Jason Germain of Downhere.  “Christmas is always our time to cut it loose a bit and have some fun with things.  We invite fans to come on in from the blustery weather and enjoy a warm evening of music, laughter and maybe even raise a mitten and sing along!”

Fellow band member, Marc Martel chimes in, “We can’t wait to hit the road with the How Many Kings Christmas Tour that will include the added fresh element of a great seasoned artist like Mark Schultz. We’re excited to expose our music, and his, to a new audience of music lovers.”

Downhere released their first full-length holiday album, How Many Kings: Songs For Christmas in October of last year to rave reviews from such media outlets as USA Today, Tennessean and About.com.  The idea to record their first Chris tmas CD grew over the years for Downhere as they performed several holiday concerts in their hometown of Franklin , TN , beginning in 2001. (Glenn Lavender is the only band member who still resides in Canada ).  Then the thought grew to fruition with the success of the single, “How Many Kings,” which went to #4 on the Chris tian AC charts in 2007, followed by the Bethlehem Skyline tour last year with their labelmates on Centricity Music.

About Downhere

During their illustrious eleven-year career, Downhere has garnered 11 Covenant Awards, 3 Juno Awards and a Dove Award for Modern Rock Recorded Song of the Year. Fans and radio continue to keep their singles at the top of the charts with “Here I Am” and “Hope Is Rising” peaking at #5 and #17 on the AC charts, while “My Last Amen” peaked at #5 on the CHR charts.  All of the songs are from Downhere’s previous project Ending Is Beginning that media heralded as their strongest studio album so far.  Downhere is currently writing and recording their next studio project, which will be released late next year.  But in the meantime, the band released Two At A Time that features 9-B sides and 2 brand new songs, including their last single, “You’re Not Alone.” For more information on Downhere please visit their website, www.downhere.com or www.myspace.com/downhere.
